Ride style: Social
Terrain: Mainly Flat
Estimated Distance: 65 kms+
Start Point: Maylands, Narrows - North Side
Start Time: Maylands 8:00, Narrows 8:30
We're planning the old familiar "Friendly Freo" with the usual obligatory coffee stop (in Fremantle). We'll have the usual Maylands Railway Station start at 8:00 am then hook up at the Narrows. The ride will start from the Narrows Bridge (North Side - where the bike path goes under the freeway bridge) at 8:30 am (don't forget to let me know if you're joining the ride)

Saturday May 29, 2010 - Pt Walter
Ride Organiser: Robert Hind
Organiser's email: Robert@robert-hind.com
Organiser's mobile telephone no: 0417 934 502
Ride style: Social
Terrain: Fairly Flat
Estimated Distance: 40 kms+

Since we were "rained out" last weekend, we'll carry over last week's planned ride to this weekend.
This week's ride will be an easy Pt Walter ride with the usual starts (Maylands and Narrows South) and coffee stop on the way back in Ardross (most likely Sensations on Ardross).
Let me know if you're planning to join us.

Compete without having to be in the same place at the same time!
GPS systems and web sites are continuing to combine forces and provide more information to aid your records, training or fuel the competitive spirit.
Garmin with their range of GPS models for the cyclist, athlete and tri athlete have really got the market cornered at the moment. Garmin's (PC Based) Training Manager is a useful program but when the Garmin is teamed with Garmin's recently improved Garmin Connect and the independent MapMyRide you can share the information.
Yesterday I learned of yet another web site which allows you to compare your times with friends and other riders who cover the same ground. Essentially you can compete without having to be in the same place at the same time! Take a look at http://www.strava.com/.

Terrain: Fairly Flat

We'll do the usual starts (Maylands and Narrows South) and take the Freeway bike path south towards Rockingham, going as far as the group consensus takes us (Thomas Road, Kwinana and back will give us 60kms). Will try and do some research during the week so we can sort out where to grab a coffee en route.
